AI for residential groups,
care homes and institutions
Qwirbel Server runs on a machine in your building. Every child, young person and staff member gets their own account with their own chats – and none of it leaves the premises. That is the decisive difference when minors' data is involved.

L'essenziale
An account per child
Each account has its own chats, folders and knowledge, kept separate. Sign-in is with a name and password.
Help with homework
Explaining instead of dictating answers, practising vocabulary, discussing texts, structuring presentations – even without an internet connection.
You set the limits
Per account you can set models, daily limits, permission level and the content filter; an account can be blocked at any time.
Accountable for supervision
An audit log records who did what, filterable per account. Useful for duty of care and for conversations with parents.
On tablets and phones
Via the companion app and in-house remote access, devices work against the same server – with no third-party cloud.
One purchase, no per-child subscription
The Server edition is bought once. There are no running costs per account and no metering by minutes of use.
What the management sees
What this means for the institution in practice
Above is what is possible. Here is what the technology carries – and what expressly remains the job of people.
Separate accounts really means separate
Everyone gets their own area: own chats, own folders, own knowledge, own profiles. Nobody sees anyone else's conversations – management included. Signing in works with a password, without username and without email; that lowers the hurdle on day one and spares IT the creating and resetting of accounts.
What can be set per account
Which models may be used, how much may be consumed per day, how independently the agent may work, which filter level applies – and, if it comes to that, the block. A young person can therefore have different limits from a staff member. A log records which account triggered which action, filterable by person and period.
⚠ The content filter is a tool, not a guarantee
There are five levels, default "moderate", set per account. We expressly promise no youth-protection compliance and no child safety: no filter catches every case, and it does not replace pedagogical guidance. Supervision remains the institution's job – the filter takes work off it, not responsibility.
The strongest point is data protection
Data of minors enjoys special protection (Art. 8 GDPR). Because Qwirbel runs on a machine in the building, conversations, homework and notes do not leave it. For normal operation this creates no processing agreement – there is no third party processing data. Anyone additionally allowing a cloud model brings a provider on board and needs the usual contracts; which is precisely why that option can be switched off centrally.
What the technology requires
One machine in the house as the server, the others connect to it. Home office runs over VPN inside the same network, not through an external service. How much video memory is needed depends on the model – the system requirements list the tiers and the recommendation on swap.
Quello che la gente chiede al riguardo
Does the children's data leave the building?
No. The language model runs on your machine; chats, files and knowledge stay there. There are no accounts with an AI provider and no transfer to third parties. For minors' data (Art. 8 GDPR) that is the decisive point – you don't need consent for cloud processing, because none takes place.
Is this safe for children?
There is a content filter with five levels (default “moderate”), permission levels and daily limits per account, plus the audit log. These are tools for you to set the frame – they are not a guarantee and they do not replace supervision. As with any medium, pedagogical guidance remains your responsibility. We deliberately promise no more than the software can deliver.
How many accounts are possible?
The Server edition is built for multi-user operation; the number of accounts is not limited by the licence. The practical limit is your hardware: how many can work simultaneously depends mainly on the graphics card.
What do we need for this?
A machine with a graphics card as the server (Windows or Linux) and a network in the building. Qwirbel largely sets itself up on first launch – downloading models, connecting components. Accounts are then created by a staff member with the IT admin role.
Can we look at it first?
Yes. The browser demo shows the complete interface with sample data, including the team and account management of the Server edition – no installation, no account.
Do we get an invoice for the institution?
Yes, the invoice arrives together with the licence key by email and can be booked normally. As a small business under § 19 UStG (German law) we don't charge VAT.
