Measure, change ONE setting, measure again
That is the whole method, and it is deliberately that slow. Change five settings at once and afterwards you do not know which one helped. Qwirbel changes one, measures again and keeps what works – or takes it back.
How it starts games
Through Steam and Epic, so through the routes that are there anyway. No launcher of its own is pushed in between and nothing is written into autostart – since v1.26 Qwirbel writes nothing there at all, because that very pattern brings virus scanners onto the scene.
⚠ It does not replace a better graphics card
No setting can conjure up what is missing. The method gets out what is in your machine and says honestly when nothing more is possible. A tool claiming "now it runs" on any hardware would not be honest.
What becomes known about the machine
Qwirbel reads what hardware is there in order to measure at all – on the device. There is no overview on our side listing which games you have or how your machine is equipped.
Where the boundary to the agent sits
The whole thing runs as a job for the agent, with the same permission levels as everything else. Before anything that cannot be taken back it asks – when changing game settings too.

Does it find games outside Steam?
It looks for them. If it can't find a program it says so – instead of opening a video in the browser as a substitute, which used to happen.
Does it secretly change my settings?
No. It tells you what changed, and a word is enough to revert. It only takes more performance on an explicit request.
Does this actually help in games?
Honestly: it does not replace a better graphics card. It helps where background load, poor settings or a full video memory are the brake – and it finds those more reliably than a gut feeling.
Is this Windows only?
Launching through the launchers is smoothest on Windows, because that is where the libraries live. Qwirbel itself also runs on Linux and macOS.
