Privacy isn’t a feature – it’s the foundation
Most AI programs send your input to someone else's machine and the answer back. Qwirbel is built the other way round: the model sits on your drive, the computing happens on your graphics card, and the result is created where you are. That is not a setting anyone could forget – it is the construction.
No forced cloud
After a one-time activation Qwirbel works completely offline. You can pull the network cable and keep working – chat, agents, images, all of it runs on your own card. There is no service that has to answer for the program to start.
Data sovereignty
Your prompts, models and results stay exclusively with you, in folders you know and can open. No staging copy on our side, no duplicate kept "to improve the service". What you delete is gone.
No subscription for the AI
Buy once, use forever – including every later version. There is no billing per word, per image or per month, because nothing is computed on our side. If you additionally want a cloud model, you add your own key and pay there for what you use.
No account, no telemetry
One key unlocks Qwirbel on up to 3 of your own devices – PC, laptop, second machine. If a fourth comes along, the one you have not used in the longest time drops out, so you cannot lock yourself out. There are no mandatory accounts, no usage statistics and no crash report travelling to us.
What exactly leaves your machine – and when
In normal operation: nothing. No prompt, no answer, no file, no image. There are exactly three exceptions and you trigger all of them yourself. First, the one-time activation: Qwirbel sends your licence key and an identifier computed from your machine to our server once, and gets back a signed unlock that then lives locally. Second, when you enter your own API key and pick a cloud model – then your request goes to exactly that provider you chose. And third, when you explicitly ask for a web search or to open a page. The "Fully local" switch turns the second and third off entirely.
What is transmitted during activation
The key itself and a number computed from characteristics of your device – not your name, not your files, not your address. The server binds the key to this device and answers with a signed proof that Qwirbel stores locally. After that the program verifies this proof with a built-in public key on its own; it never asks again. That is precisely why Qwirbel keeps working even if our site were gone one day.
Why local also matters in practice
This is not only about principle. What stays on your machine cannot leak at a third party, cannot be used for training and cannot be captured by a change in the law. There is no queue when others are busy, no cut to your quota and no price rise in the middle of a project. And there are no content filters refusing an answer to a harmless text because some external service sees it differently.
For companies: what you can hand to your data protection officer
Because nothing flows out, normal operation creates no processing agreement – there is no third party processing data. The Server edition runs on a machine inside your own network and staff connect to it. Anyone additionally allowing a cloud model brings a provider on board and needs the usual contracts – which is why that option can be switched off centrally. What Qwirbel does and does not do technically is written down in the privacy policy and the EULA.
How to check it yourself
Disconnect the machine from the network and keep working – chat, agents and image generation run unchanged. Or look inside the program under Settings, Files and storage to see where everything lives: every folder with size and purpose. A program that secretly sends would need the network; one that works completely without it cannot.

A language model on your own graphics card that answers while it writes – word by word instead of all at once. Models like Qwen, Gemma or Llama come from the library with one click; Qwirbel shows beforehand which ones fit your card. None of it leaves the machine. - Model and provider choice
You decide per message who does the computing: the local model, a second one beside it, or a cloud provider using your own key. Switching costs no restart and no new chat – the same conversation continues, only the engine underneath is a different one. - Autonomous agent
Instead of explaining step by step, you give a goal. Qwirbel analyses it, makes a plan, works through it, checks the result itself and learns from it for next time. Along the way it may read and write files, search the web and call programs – how far it may go is set by the permission level. - Asks before risky steps
Deleting, overwriting, installing something: before anything happens that cannot be taken back, Qwirbel asks and shows exactly what it intends to do. This cannot be switched off by accident – it hangs on the same permission level that limits everything else. - Slash commands
A slash opens the shortcuts: /image and /video create something, /load fetches a file, /search goes online, /export writes the chat to a file, /pin sticks it to the top, /history searches everything earlier. If you dislike them, just keep typing in plain language – both lead to the same result. - Attach and find files
Drag text, code, PDFs or images into the chat and Qwirbel works with them. You do not have to get a file name exactly right: the search in the chat finds it despite typos and shows where it lives. - Pin, search, take along
Important chats stay pinned at the top, everything older can be searched, and every chat goes to your downloads folder as a Markdown file – readable in any editor, without Qwirbel. Your conversations are yours, outside the program too. - Edit and try again
You can change one of your own messages afterwards and send it again – the chat then continues from there instead of you retyping everything. And if you do not like an answer, Qwirbel produces a second version without discarding the first. - Read aloud
Answers can be read out automatically, with a selectable voice. Like everything else this runs locally – no text goes to a speech service, and it works without a network too.
Custom tabs & chat tools
- Build your own tab
A plus under the tab bar, one sentence of description – and the model builds it: explanatory text, input fields, checklists and buttons that work with your content. You see the blueprint first and only place it at the press of a button. Eight ready-made templates are there to click. - Compress a long chat
One click turns the history so far into a record: what is done, what was decided, which files were touched, what is still open. From there the context window starts fresh, while every message stays visible to you. - It no longer stops silently
When a model thinks for minutes or searches your own knowledge, Qwirbel sends a sign of life every thirty seconds – previously the interface took such pauses for a dead connection and aborted. And if planning really does break off, the reason is stated plainly instead of a false 'goal reached'. - Where the tokens go

- Tasks that repeat
Whatever you need regularly you describe once in plain language – "every morning check whether new invoices are in the folder and sort them by month". Qwirbel turns that into a job with several steps and runs it from then on. You do not have to program anything or click rules together. - When it should run
By hand, at a fixed interval, daily or weekly – set per job. A job running at night does not need you at the machine; one you only need occasionally waits for your click. - Watch without expertise
Running jobs appear as small figures, each with a speech bubble showing its current step. That is not decoration: you see at a glance whether something is working, what it is waiting for and where it is stuck – without reading a log. - Trusted jobs without asking
For a job you know and trust, the confirmations can be switched off – then it runs straight through. That is a deliberate decision per job and never applies to everything at once. - What happened last time
Every job keeps its history: when it ran, whether it got through and what each step produced. If something went wrong you see at which point – not just that it did.
Life (everyday)

Appointments, open tasks and the shopping list sit together on one page – not in three programs. Made for the morning glance: what is coming up, what got left over, what to take along. - A calendar you can touch
A monthly grid where appointments appear and disappear with a click. It lives on your device, not at a provider – and syncs with no account you did not set up yourself. - Lists that show progress
Tasks and shopping as lists you can see the state of. Completed items stay visible instead of vanishing at once – that is the difference between "done" and "there was never anything there". - Work days from email
If your shift plan arrives by mail, Qwirbel can read the working days out of it and put them in the calendar. Appointments already there are recognised and not duplicated. Only what you release for it is read.
Planning
- Think first, then build
A tab of its own where a project is written out before anything is created: what should come out of it, in which steps, and how you will know it is finished. Only then does it go to the chat or to a swarm of agents. That avoids the most common disappointment – a result built cleanly but past the point. - The plan stays a file
What you work out together lands as a readable file in the project folder and keeps growing there. It is yours, in plain text, and opens in any editor – without Qwirbel too. Agents later read exactly that file instead of you explaining the goal again every time.
Setup & onboarding
- Sets itself up
On first launch an assistant walks you through setup and does most of it itself: it looks at what hardware is there, what is already installed and what is missing. You need to know neither what a model is nor how to open a command line – pressing "Set up" once is enough. - Models with one click
Chat, image and voice models download straight from the program into the right folder, without moving files or hunting for instructions. Downloads come only from vetted sources, and beforehand it says how large it is and whether it fits your card. - Connecting ComfyUI
Images and video need ComfyUI – for licensing reasons you install it yourself. The assistant walks you through it step by step and then checks the connection actually stands. If no answer comes, Qwirbel says so with a reason instead of quietly pointing at a guessed port. - Where the models go
Models are large, often tens of gigabytes. During setup Qwirbel suggests a location with enough room, and you can change it – to a second drive too. Later, under Settings, you can see at any time what lives where and how much it takes. - Repeatable at any time
Setup is not something you skip once and never find again. It has its own tab and can be reopened whenever you like – for instance when a new graphics card goes into the machine or you want to add something.
Generation (media)
- Create images
You describe the image in chat, Qwirbel computes it on your graphics card and shows it in the same place – no switching to another program. Among the options are Z-Image for quick drafts, FLUX.1 as an all-purpose family, and Qwen-Image when there is text in the picture. There is no image limit, because no external service is counting. - Turn a still into a video
Give it a still image and Qwirbel sets it in motion. Several clips can be chained by making the last frame of one the first frame of the next – that is how longer scenes come about instead of only a few seconds. Batches work too: several clips one after another without you sitting there. - Transfer movement
A reference video provides the motion, your own subject takes it over. That lets a figure walk, dance or gesture exactly like the template, without you having to know animation. - Change images
One source plus up to two more images as reference, and in words what should happen – swap the background, adopt a style, add something. The original stays, the result arrives as a new file beside it. - Music and sound
Audio is created locally too: pieces of music and sounds, computed on your machine. No service is listening, nothing is uploaded, and there is no question about rights to what you do with it. - Set your own limits
Resolution, computing steps, frames per second, length in seconds – upper limits can be fixed for every workflow. That is more than convenience: an oversized job can block a graphics card for minutes, and the limit prevents exactly that. - Read aloud in a voice you pick
54 ready-made voices are available, and a recording of about thirty seconds adds one of your own. This computes on your device too – your voice sample does not leave the machine. - Bring your own workflows
Anyone already working with ComfyUI brings their own workflows along: import, set limits, done. Qwirbel does not replace them with something of its own, it runs exactly what you built. - Use several graphics cards Server
In the Server edition, jobs can be spread across multiple ComfyUI instances and therefore multiple graphics cards. Several people can generate at the same time without slowing each other down.
Models & AI
- GPU stays free on API use
Once you pick a provider, even side tasks run there - nothing is loaded locally for chat names or summaries. And nothing loads at startup either. - The model library
About fifty model variants, sorted by family and described: what the model is good for, how large it is, what it can and cannot do. One click loads it into the right place. You need to know neither where models live nor what the abbreviations in file names mean. - The "fits my card" filter
Qwirbel reads how much video memory you have and hides what would not fit anyway. Each version states what quality you lose by going one step smaller – and one carries the recommendation: the largest that still runs comfortably on your machine. That spares the most common early frustration: download a model, wait, and then it does not run. - Adding outside providers
When your card is not enough for a task, you enter your own key for Claude, Gemini, Grok, GLM, Kling or Higgsfield and let them compute. The key stays with you and billing runs directly between you and the provider – we do not sit in between and earn nothing from it.
Tools (MCP)

The chat uses 44 of them itself - open pages, look at images, research, add appointments. The rest belong to Work and Code; you can add your own. - Adding tools
An open standard lets you add further tools – access to a ticket system, a database, or a service only your company has. Installation comes from a vetted list or a source you name yourself; if you like, you write your own. - Roblox Studio, Unity, Godot and Blender too
Through the same interface Qwirbel drives running programs. The connection stays open instead of restarting for every call: the first call waits until the program answers, every further one takes a fraction of a second. - What it cannot see, it does not change
If the target program is not attached to its interface, that program's existing files are locked for it – enforced in execution, not merely asked for in the prompt. It may create new files. Its report then says it was blocked, instead of claiming it built something. - If a tool is missing, it fetches it
From roughly seventy billion parameters the model finds the right server, installs it, switches it on and uses it within the same job. Below that Qwirbel tells you in one sentence which one you need in the MCP tab. - The agent reaches for them itself
A newly installed tool does not need switching on or explaining. The agent sees it is there and uses it when the task calls for it. For small models this list is deliberately withheld – they would otherwise get confused by two toolboxes at once.
Knowledge & profiles
- Your own knowledge
Manuals, notes, contracts, minutes – whatever you store, the agent searches when needed and answers from it instead of guessing. The knowledge stays on your device and goes into no training run. For companies that is the difference between a generic answer and one that knows your rules. - Picking up your style
Show Qwirbel a few examples of how you write and it keeps to them – for mails, quotes or descriptions that should sound like you and not like a program. Several profiles can exist side by side, one for customers and one for internal use. - Understanding images, typing speech
Qwirbel can look at what you show it – a screenshot, a photo, a sketch – and work from there. The other way round, it writes down what you say. Both run locally; neither your image nor your voice goes to a service. - What Qwirbel remembers about you Single-seat
A long-term memory holding preferences, recurring goals and connections – so you do not have to explain yourself in every new chat. You can look inside, change individual entries and delete them. It sits on your drive, not in an account.
Voice & audio
- Live dictation
Text appears while you speak, not afterwards. Language selectable (German/English/automatic); the wake word starts the same dictation. - Choosing a voice
54 ready-made voices you can listen to beforehand – male, female, calmer, brighter. Whichever you like becomes the default, and Qwirbel reads aloud in it from then on. - Your own voice
A recording of about thirty seconds produces a voice that sounds like yours. The recording stays on your device and is processed there – it goes to no service that could learn something of its own from it. This needs suitable hardware; Qwirbel says beforehand whether yours is enough. - Where the sound goes
Qwirbel's voice can be sent to the speakers while everything else stays in the headset – handy when a meeting is running alongside, or someone should hear along without you taking the headset off. - Starting hands-free
"Hey Qwirbel" brings the window to the front and starts the same dictation as the microphone button. The wake word is recognised on your device; there is no permanent connection to a speech service that would be listening.
Settings & system
- Say what you need – it sets itself
Every settings tab has a field at the bottom: write what you want – a dark red theme, a video background with little blur, an extra model – and Qwirbel sets it. What it may change is fixed per tab; anything else is refused, even if the model suggests it. - Your own background, moving too
An image or a video (MP4/WebM) behind the whole interface, with a blur slider. On request Qwirbel finds the short videos your wallpaper apps already have on disk and copies the one you pick – your background survives even if you delete that app. - Colors to your taste
Accent, background and fields can be set separately – or take one of the ready-made themes. If you give a single tab its own color, it keeps that color even when you later pick one color for everything. - Switching language
Interface and answers switch separately. On first launch Qwirbel follows your system language; your own choice overrides that permanently. If you need a language that is not included, a model translates it – and the interface stays usable throughout. - Backups run along
Chats and settings are backed up automatically, so a failed update or a slip does not cost weeks of work. The backups sit on your own drive – there is no copy in a cloud you would have to download again. - When something jams
Built-in check and repair commands look at what is wrong: is the service running, is the port open, is the model actually loaded. Qwirbel explains itself while doing so, in German or English – instead of printing an error code you then have to look up. - Adding capabilities as you go
Capabilities such as image recognition, microphone or speech can be loaded at any time without reinstalling. Qwirbel states openly what is missing – including size and an honest answer on whether your hardware is enough.
Privacy
- AI content is labelled
Whatever Qwirbel creates carries a note under Article 50 of the EU AI Act – as an origin line in text and code, in the metadata of images and video. It also states which model it was and whether it ran locally or through a cloud API. Files Qwirbel only edits get no stamp. - Privacy checks and cleanup
On request Qwirbel takes a look at your machine: which pre-installed software is running along, what opens itself at startup, and which programs call home. There is also a check whether your email address appears in a known data breach – run so that the address itself is not revealed: only a short part of its hash goes out, and the answer does not disclose what was asked. - Everything stays on the device
Passwords, chats, models, generated files – none of it travels to us or to a third party. There is no cloud staging area, no backup "just in case" and no usage statistics. What leaves the machine is entirely your decision, and the "Fully local" switch closes that too with one click.
Server / IT management

Everyone gets their own area: own chats, own folders, own knowledge, own style profiles. Nobody sees anyone else's conversations, management included – separate means separate, otherwise it would not be multi-user operation but a shared machine with name tags. - Signing in without user management Server
Staff type only their password and land in their account – no username, no email, no registration. That lowers the hurdle on day one and spares IT the creating and resetting of accounts. - Two roles, cleanly cut Server

Anyone working from home connects to the same server over Tailscale or a VPN. There is no detour through an external service and no entrance standing open on the public internet – the connection runs inside your network, just from further away.
Android companion app
- The PC screen on your phone
You see live what is happening on the machine – handy when a job is still running and you are already out. The picture goes straight from the machine to the phone, with no detour through a service on the internet. - Control it with your finger
Your finger takes over the mouse, you can tap and click as if at the device itself. Pairing happens once via QR code; after that phone and machine find each other on their own. There is no account and no third-party cloud in between – if there were, your screen would travel over their line.
